President and Co-founder

Kenney Hayes, President and co-founder of Writers Who Care is a retired mortgage banking executive after 35 years of service. Ms. Hayes served in executive leadership positions for multiple nationwide banks and financial organizations focusing on mortgage lending. She is an accomplished musician, songwriter, and long-time volunteer in her community.

"Writing." says Ms. Hayes, "has become my unbridled passion." She loves writing about topics she has experienced and things that are important to her, as well as sharing ideas and objectives with others. She has just completed her first fiction novel, sharing her personal experiences of having represented the "voice of the child" in court for 13 years.

Through an unusual love story filled with adventure and powerful intimate truths about foster kids trying to just make it day by day, it brings a better understanding of true love, happiness, and heartbreak.  It is scheduled to be released in the first quarter of 2023.

Kenney was Executive Director for a national young women's scholarship program for 12 years allowing high school seniors and college students to reach for higher education and develop well-needed life skills.

She served for 13 years as a volunteer as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for abused and neglected children. She and her husband have two grown daughters, three grandchildren, and a spoiled Yorkshire terrier. They live near Seattle, Washington.
